Sunday Morning Philosophy of Worship - "The Chief End of the Church is Worship" - 10:30 a.m.

It is our deep desire to worship God in spirit and in truth as instructed by our Lord. We do have a commitment to a sensible “regulative principle” of worship believing that “how” we worship Him is as important as “that” we worship Him. Not only is this made clear in the 1st and 2nd commandments, but all throughout the Scriptures as a whole.

• Cain’s sacrifice was rejected by God.
• The Golden Calf was rejected by God. (they were still worshipping the God that freed them, but they did it with the calf)
• Nadab and Abihu’s “strange fire” was rejected by God.
• The worship practices of the Pharisees were rejected by Jesus.
• The worship practices of the Colossians and the Corinthians were rejected by Paul the Apostle.

We desire the Scriptures to be our pattern for our Sunday morning Worship Services. Furthermore, we hold to what Moses spoke to Aaron after the death of his son’s Nadab and Abihu:

Leviticus 10:3 - Then Moses said to Aaron, “It is what the LORD spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, and before all the people I will be honored.’” – NASB

The Order of Worship

• We begin with Welcome and Announcements followed by a Call to Worship.
• The Call to Worship - The Word of God is read with a brief exhortation followed by a Prayer of Adoration.
• We sing a praise song followed by a cooperate Prayer of Confession.
• After the confession a minister Assures Us of Our Pardon from God (1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.)
• We then sing another praise song followed by worship with our offerings.
• An Offertory is sung.
• We have a moment of Scripture reading before we hear the sermon.
• Expositional Preaching - we seek to declare the main point of a particular Biblical passage. The aim of the sermon is the Exaltation of Christ in light of the proper distinctions of Law and Gospel.
• The sermon is followed by a Benediction.

Our Service starts at 10:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes.

We baptize regularly as new believers are added to the Body of Christ.

We partake of the Lord’s Supper each week.
